Meet Harry & Jan & their dogs

About Us

A bit about our park

Oak View Caravan Park is owned by Kent County Agricultural Society and managed by Jan & Harry Flavell, experienced caravanners who offer a warm welcome and a helping hand to all their guests. The Caravan Park boasts high quality facilities including toilet and shower blocks, a launderette and small on-site shop providing everyday essentials. With a mixture of grass and hard standing pitches we can accommodate caravans, motorhomes and tents.

The Wardens

Jan and Harry Flavell have been managing Oak View Caravan Park for the last 3 years with the help of their adorable cocker spaniels; Megan and Smudge.

Jan is the friendly face ready to meet and greet campers whilst Harry handles the groundwork and siting of the caravans.

Seasoned caravanners for over 35 years Jan and Harry are always on hand to offer advise if needed.

“We do our best to ensure you have an enjoyable holiday. Whether you are a first-time visitor or part of the furniture, we will be delighted to hear from you.”

Kent Event Centre

The Kent Event Centre has been on its current site in Detling since 1964, originally purchased to host the annual Kent County Show. Over the last twenty years the Kent Event Centre has developed with the building of the large John Hendry Pavilion, The Astor Pavilion, the Clive Emson Conference Hall and the Maidstone Exhibition Hall.

The Kent Event Centre currently has a full and varied calendar of shows, meetings, conferences and exhibitions for 2 to 20,000 people.

Kent County Agricultural Society

The Kent County Agricultural Society is a registered charity formed in 1923 to improve and promote agriculture, forestry, horticulture, allied industries, rural crafts and the breeding of livestock, across Kent.

In addition to making a number of awards each year the society is best-known for organising the annual Kent County Show but also the Heritage Transport Show and Living Land, a free one-day event aimed at educating young children in the areas of farming, agriculture, countryside and healthy eating.
